I have gotten a few emails from people asking me to clarify the process to adopt from Korea so I figured I'd do so on the blog so you can know where we are at!
This is a very brief synopsis of the process that I found on a website that I visit, but if I went into detail I think I'd lose too many LOL so here goes:
1) Homestudy (working on it)
2) File I600A with immigration (done)
3) get fingerprinted for I600A
4) Get referral!!!!!! (which can happen anytime after Cecelia, the executive director of our placement agency, Love the Children)
5) receive legals for the specific child
6) File I600 with immigration
7) I600 approval goes to National Visa Center
8.) Receive Emmigration Permit (permission from the Korean government for my child to leave the county).
9.) Embassy requests packet of info from agency to complete visa (P3)
10) Get visa interview
11) Get our travel call
12) Pick up our child at either LaGuardia or JFK airport!
