Homestudy paperwork check!

I am sure I shared that I received the list of documents that I need for the homestudy to begin. I received it on Saturday and made it a goal to have it done by Friday's meeting. Well, last night I photocopied it all, and I am ready to hand deliver it tomorrow for our meeting. The only document I didn't receive was the FBI clearance, but we got fingerprinted for that on Tuesday, and we were told it can take anywhere from 2-8 weeks. They gave me a peice of paper that will tell my agency that we had gotten fingerprinted, and he said that most agencies will move on with the homestudy until that comes in. I received the other two clearances that we needed (child abuse clearance and the state of PA clearance) already. Chris and I have no record :) So with that said, we are hoping that the social worker can meet with us next week. We'll know more tomorrow I think.

I am really excited for tomorrow's educational meeting. I've been reading about adoption since we decided to go ahead with it (and well, before that as well) and I just feel I can never have enough knowledge. Plus it will be nice for Chris to get some information as well, since he's not so into all the reading I do. Plus its another thing we can cross of our to-do list.

I am almost done with the documents that I need for our placement agency (LTC)'s documents as well. I'm just waiting for the letter from the bank. If I don't get it by tomorrow, then Saturday morning I will physically go to the bank to try to get it.

I am a bit overwhelmed with the two different agencies documents, plus we got the stack of papers that I need to fill out for Carmela's IEP this week. That stack is about double those for the adoption. All three stacks of papers are due before our Disney trip, which is in 15 days from today (but who is counting?!)

The kids are doing well. We had Carmela's dance on Monday, where we were allowed to go in and watch. I will post pics and more about this at another time! My kids had to go to the pediatrician yesterday for paperwork to be filled out for the adoption (basically saying they are healthy). And Carm was 43.5 inches tall. Some of the rides at disney that she wants to go on she has to be 44 inches. She is DEVESTATED about this. We are trying to stretch her at night LOL! Carmela is also 42 lbs. She is a big girl :) Joey FINALLY broke the 30 lb mark and is 36.5 inches (I think) tall. The kids just LOVE Dr. Miller and so do I. He's a hike away (in Jersey/PA standards) at 45 mins but oh so worth it. He really takes the time to talk to me and the kids and really knows his stuff about Carmela. He did mention that the next step wtih Carmela is a scope of her belly to find out what is going on with her constipation since the milk isn't helping as much as I'd like. And he was happy I made the dentist appointment for Joey since he agreed with me that those teeth don't seem to be coming in :( I told him I'd bring Carmela back in after the holidays and we'll see what we think then.

That is it for us. I still can't believe I will be a Mom of 3 soon :) I'm excited, but oh so nervous!

Oh yeah, one last thing, Chris started researching minivans. As of now its between the Honda Odyssey, Toyota Sienna and the Kia Sedona. feel free to comment if you have one :)

Honda, hands down. I sooo want an Odyssey. I've had lots of Honda's in the past with good luck. A friend of mine has the Kia and maybe it is just her luck, but they've had problems with it. Nothing major, but things that continue to keep them at the dealers with repairs or recalls.
