Some more ramblings

So maybe Carmela DOES get it. Today Carmela had therapy, and she walks out with her speech teacher who told me that Carmela was being silly. She had heard a baby crying who was in physical therapy, and Carmela turned to her speech therapist and occupational therapist and proudly said she was going to have a baby. They asked her WHO was going to have a baby and she said she was. Of course, she insisted the baby was in her belly, but we didn't know yet if it was a boy or a girl, just a baby. I had to explain that we were adopting from Korea and we had just shared the news with the kids. I was glad that Carmela showed signs of understanding what I've been saying, because so far she's really been quiet about it.

By the way, our application was officially mailed yesterday at 4:00 pm! Woohoo! The post office told me that most likely the agency will get it today, if not on Saturday. I plan on calling by next week if I hear from anyone.

Last night I was speaking with a few people that have successfully used the same agency as we are. They had read my blog already and said they read the part where I was daydreaming about the birthmother being pregnant, and they said that most likely the birthmother had already given birth to our child, and placed him or her for adoption. They said for me to expect a referral in a MONTH! Phew. I was thinking like six months!!!!!!!!!!!!! So that was a bit of a shock for me. I will know more after I speak with my social worker of course, but quite a few people with my agency told me to expect a referral before Christmas 'definitely". So of course I did the calculations and well since in Korea the babies are kept on a registry for 5-6 months for domestic adoption, well that would put our baby born around April or May of 2008, which yup means another Spring baby for us :) My brain starts racing and I realize that I may just have another close age gap between Joey and #3. 3 under 4 sounds tough LOL! Can't wait to hear what the social worker has to say about this!

Off to start dinner....
