Learning patience....

So how does a 31 year old woman learn patience??? Adopt internationally, my friend. You are forced to be patient. As most of you know, patience is not my strong suit. At any rate, we have met our first little snag in our process. And yes, I do know that those of you that have your little ones at home are probably laughing your butts off at me, but to me, this is a snag!!!! LOL!

So I called my agency today to make sure they received my application, and to see if we can get the phone number of the social worker assigned to us. Well imagine my surprise when the gentleman I talked to said that Cecilia (the head of our agency) was in Korea for another week to week and a half, and that Cecilia must look over every application to make sure it is ok and then either we will get a phone call saying that we were not approved, or for more information OR we'll get a phone call from a social worker setting up our homestudy. Of course we are hoping for the latter!

In the grand scheme of things, one to two weeks is nothing, but right now the first phone call approving me is so exciting and I want it now LOL!

I do have to say that of course I got off the phone with the agency and called Chris at work. He was so supportive and really put things in perspective. What if we got pregnant one month earlier or later with our children, Carmela would not be Carmela, and Joey would not be Joey. Wow. So true. I am starting to realize that I am not in control as much as I think I am. I am just living my life on God's time. God is waiting for the perfect time for my child to come home to me. I understand that, but God, you have to understand I'm a bit inpatient :)

Another friend that I have met also brought up another good point. Cecilia, while in Korea, is in constant communication with her office so my friend says. This means that I am sure they are going to tell her that she received a new application and that means that while she is in Korea, she will try to match me with a waiting baby. We shall see if this is true, but I know of a few people that this happened to. All in God's timing, All in God's timing, All in God's timing...

On a totally different subject, my 4.5 year old figured out her whole life last night. She had dance class, and on the way home, she decided that she is marrying her best friend Everett (he is our next door neighbor). She and Ev will live in my house because this is her home. They are going to have four kids named: Diana, Everett, Madison and Kiara. So I turn to Joey and ask him how many kids he wants, he says 2 and their names will be "boy" and "girl". Carmela decided that Joey and his wife and boy and girl will live with us too because she'd miss her brother if he moved out. So there ya go....this adoption is in God's timing, Carmela and Joey's future is on Carmela's timing LOL!

And today it's pouring outside here so I had to drive Carmela to the bus stop. While in the car, she mentioned the baby again. She keeps telling me that she doesn't want the baby to come home walking because she has to be the big sister and teach him or her how to walk. :) At any rate, when I asked her if she's excited for the baby, her response was simple. Mom, I'm excited for Disney, for my wedding and THEN the baby......she cracks me up!

I am off to Yogilates with my friend Eileen. Hoping yogilates will help me feel better!
